Remembrance
Show #33: Remembrance
This show focuses on Remembrance, the theme of the November 11 holiday in Canada. I open with some thoughts about the many people killed in violent conflict. That's followed by some music that was an absolute delight to rediscover via a link from the Podsafe Music Network. In searching within the PMN for some music with a war theme, I came across a listing by none other than Tom Robinson - one of my favorite musicians of the 1970's and 80's. I think that his songs "Atmospherics - Listen to the Radio" and "Looking for a Bonfire" have some of the richest lyrics I have ever heard. Following the link from the PMN to Tom's website, I found dozens of his songs available for download as mp3s. Two of the many songs available for download from his site are included in this podcast.
Included is an email report from LAX from The Zedcaster as he wends his way back to Pictou County from the Portable Media and Podcast Expo.
I also talk about the Frappr site that I've set up for Island Podcasting under the link Frappr.com/islandpodcasting. Log in, sign up and post a picture and comment. Show us who you are and where you are located! Thanks to Dave of Chub Creek for the audio bulletin on Frappr.
As usual, drop me a line if you have any comments, and I'll talk to you again soon.
