Advice to the right:

If you want to maintain any credibility and hold on to some loyalists, you need to just stop it. John Stossel applauding gougers, actually saying they are helping to make sure the supplies - water in particular - only goes to those who truly need it? The fool filling in for Bill O'Reilly telling Canadians they only got in quicker than the National Guard to help in New Orleans to make Bush look bad? Attacking those demanding answers saying they're politicizing and "playing the blame game"?

It's gonna bite you in the butt. It already has, but it's gonna bite you harder. You need to at least pretend you have hearts and that they aren't black. You need to try to connect with real people and understand the plight of real people.

You need to give evidence to the "compassionate" side of conservative you touted so much during the election.

And you need to accept some accountability, show some humility, take some tough action and demand that the inept be fired and that competent people take their place, and work hard to become one of those lauded on the ground in the effort.

It may not be too late.
