O'Reilly Claims He Is Personally Responsible For Lower Gas Prices.

In an interview yesterday with Fox News' Neil Cavuto, Bill O'Reilly claimed that his reporting intimidated oil company CEOs into lowering gasoline prices:

O'REILLY: I have guys inside the five major oil companies - my father used to work for one of those oil companies by the way - who have told me that in those meetings they look for every way to jack up oil prices after Katrina, every way, when they didn't have to. They got scared because of my reporting and reporting of some others. They said, "Uh ho."

CAVUTO: So wait a minute, you're not, you're taking credit for gas prices being down from where they are?

O'REILLY: I said my reporting and some reporting of others. They got scared.

Steve Cobble: "Stupid" Questions about Iraq.

Why is it that the MSM didn't seem to notice that a recent conference of Iraqis from across the spectrum asked us to go away (e.g., here and here)?
Why is it that the only people ever quoted about what to do next in Iraq policy in the MSM are the ones who got it wrong in the first place?
Why is it that George W. gets to cherry-pick not only the intelligence, but his rhetorical opponents?
(that's why he uses the phrase "some Democrats"...because most of the world knew he was out of his mind and misleading the public long before the war started...)
Why is it so hard for the MSM to point out that the Bush plan, such as it is ("we'll stand down when the Iraqis stand up") means that American troops will be in Iraq for years to come, at permanent bases?
Why do Bush/Cheney not have to apologize for taking the most powerful nation in the history of the world to war against an essentially dis-armed country?
What makes the theory of "pre-emptive strikes" morally different from Pearl Harbor?
