Nov 26 6:00 - 8:00 pm Alpha Kappa Alpha Torrent House. Nov 27 6:00 - 7:30 pm Computer Class-Internet Hackley Public Library, East Room. This class is geared to those with some computer experience who want to learn about the Internet. Registration is required and opens on Nov 1. To register call 231-722-7276. Nov 27 6:30 - 7:30 pm Ladies of the Lights with Dianna Stampfler Julia Hackley Room, Hackley Public Library. Meet the ladies who kept the lights burning at beacons throughout Michigan. They were women before their time, taking on the dangerous and difficult job of tending to beacons that protected the shores of the Great Lakes State. In all, nearly 20 women have been found who excelled in this profession. Nearly 50 images have been collected (of keepers, their lights, and their families). The program also includes reading from journals, logs, and autobiographies from these women. For more information call 231-722-7276.
