Let Manufacturers Recycle Your Old Gadgets [Recycle] .

Electronics aren't an easy thing to get rid of, at least with a clear eco-conscious. Luckily, Wired's How-To Wiki has done the grunt work of tracking down and detailing the major hardware makers' recycling programs.

Wired moves from the easiest general gadget-tossing options, like heading to Best Buy's expanded e-cycling, swapping a still-useful gadget over a service like previously mentioned Gazelle, etc. But the real meat is the listing of major laptop and cellphone makers and how they handle your recycling needs. Apple, for instance, only recycles for free if you're buying something new from them. HP has different policies for all the myriad markets they're in. But the majority of manufacturers offer free drop-off or mail-in recycling—you just have to know where to look.

Check out Wired's link-laden, semi-comprehensive guide at the link.
