Mar 4 6:30 pm Midnight Lullabies Hackley Public Library. Gretchen Van Lente will be at Hackley Public Library to read from "Midnight Lullabies", an anthology of 29 frightening tales and poems by authors from around the world. She will have books for sale, the proceeds of which go to support Doctors Without Borders. The event is free, but please call ahead (231-722-7276) so we can plan for enough seating. Mar 8 2:00 pm IT'S BARBIE TIME Hackley Public Library, Youth Services Department. Barbie collector Joanne Daniels will show some of her 500 plus dolls, including vintage collectibles and a "fantasy show" featuring Barbie at Cinderella's Ball, in the Wizard of Oz and other favorite storybook scenes. Kids will learn about doll collecting, and how to fix up and dress old Barbies on a small budget. A Barbie Dress-up Time will let kids dress and groom a variety of dolls from Joanne's collection.
