For all those Myst gamers that want to play the online version

Per http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/
GameTap's Myst Now For Macs

GameTap, Turner Broadcasting System's online entertainment network, is now making available its Myst Online: Uru Live game for the Mac platform. Using technology from TransGaming Inc., Mac users can now take part in the same massively multiplayer Myst Online: Uru Live experience as their PC counterparts, including all of the regularly added features, destinations and missions, the company said.

Myst Online: Uru Live, the newest iteration of the venerable game franchise, has been the number-one game on GameTap since its launch in February.

The game now offers Mac users the game's adventure and puzzle-solving elements, set in visually arresting worlds, via TransGaming's Cider portability engine, which enables PC games to run on the Intel Mac OS. New content and upgrades to Myst Online: Uru Live will be simultaneous and transparent to users on both Mac and PC platforms.

Published by GameTap and developed by Cyan Worlds, Myst Online: Uru Live was created exclusively for GameTap and is available to GameTap subscribers in the United States and Canada and via download in select countries around the world.

Janet's MacBook Pro worked fine for the first 4 months she owned it, then without warning it shut off. When I say shut off it's like it was unplugged and the battery was removed. The machine stared back up just fine like nothing had happened. The first couple times it happened she questioned if the battery was faulty but then it happened while plugged in with the charger. For the next 6 months with two returns to Apple where RAM got swapped out, the sound card replaced. three different batteries,  and finally a mother board replacement which should have fixed the problem. During this time the machine got all the Firmware updates installed and was running the lastest rev of the OS. One month later sudden shut down starts up again Apples answer reset the RAM. We did and a week later two more shut downs. Janet calls Apple again reads off diary of events and Apple rep after 45 minutes on hold suggests maybe Apple should take the computer back and issue her a new one. It came monday and so far so good. Yes the new one is a more updated version with Core 2 Duel more RAM more HD and a DL DVD RW but having to reformat and reinstall all her applications, data and boot camp XP etc is-not a fun week. Hopefully everything will be back by the end of this week-end. Hopefully the new machine will not have the strange sudden shut downs and Janet will start trusting her work will not suddenly disappear.
