My new Apple Extreme base station appears to be doing pretty well it pretty much got setup in about 15 minutes after installing the software on my PowerBook running 10.4.8. I then placed a USB 250 Gig drive in the USB port and mounted it on my desktop using the utility on the CD. So far the only problem has been the hard drive sometimes dismounts and it will not come back until I reset the Airport. Now resetting the Airport is simple, you use the Airport Admin tool like you were going to change something but you just move through all the setting with out changing them. When you get to the end it restarts the Airport and you up and running in about 3 minutes. Now I used the default configuration but my setup is pretty basic. Having 4 ports to plug my two hubs into is a nice feature and seems to work well. Steve Riggins on the other hand has been having VPN problems and has contacted Apple tech support to help work out the problems. Do keep in mind this is  a 1.0 version of the firmware and we will most likely get several updates before all the bugs get squashed. In general if you are running 10.4.8 and need a new wireless router it has my vote.
