In reading a couple of mixed computer web sites I am amazed at the PC users who profess to hate the Macintosh. We are called names and referred to as smug by these people. So let me take a step back in time when I first bought a Mac SE. I remember people saying things like how do you like your toy computer, and you have a mouse what do you need that for? The number one thing I kept hearing was I need a PC I have to do real work. Many PC users do not like Mac because they mistakenly think theirs is the only computer that works for a living. I am not nor never have been a Windows user though I did use DOS on a IBM early in life. Yes I can set up Virtual PC or Boot Camp with XP on it but I really don't use it. I have friends who are PC users and that's OK with me it makes exchanging files a little difficult sometimes but mostly we get along. Then I run into the folks who give me crap about how the Macintosh is not upgradeable and how expensive they are compared to PC's. Truly have they ever really looked into the cost over a two to three year period that a new Mac usually lasts me? After all these are the same people that talk about having to buy a new video card, network card, FireWire card, new CPU, and well you get the drift. Yes I know PC's are cheaper there is a reason for that most don't have very good componets installed in them and those that do are pretty much the same price a Mac is if not more. Then we have ease of use having the computer and the system software all designed by the same company is a plus but in this day and age that does not mean our platform is perfect. If you listen to these people you find that they (or at least they profess to) hate Windows. So they hate their own platform and they hate ours. My suggestion is to let them spew and do not reply to them you'll only fuel their ego and you certainly won't change their mind about our platform.
