Unfriendly Products Here is a big do not buy this item tip: the Acondata USB external hard drive being sold at Fry's. When you turn it on, two volumes show up on the desktop: one MSDOS FAT 32 volume and then another 178 MB with the software for their read-write protection programs. You have to install their program in order to erase the hard drive, but first you have to enter a password in their program. You have to really read all the documentation that comes with the drive to find the password (which by the way is 12345). After you do this it will let you reformat the large FAT 32 volume. But the small volume still shows up with their software in it. Anytime I am locked out of completely reformatting a hard drive, it is a defective drive as far as I am concerned.
