A Troublesome or Troubled Brother?

Yesterday I spent several hours with some local church leaders talking about the direction of their church. What really amazed me was the fact that they spent 1/2 to 2/3 of the time talking about one church member who is constantly criticizing them. Rather than confronting this person they would rather spend hours and hours of time discussing how to answer his frequent criticisms. I don't think this brother is really unhappy with them, I think he is just plain unhappy. He needs someone to care for and minister to him. Part of that care or shepherding should include "speaking the truth in love". I hope they'll find the courage to do that.

China Injustice

Rapid economic growth combined with a backward justice system and corruption is leading to great unrest in China. China does not have rule of law and local government cadres are getting rich by dispossessing peasants of their farm lands and selling the lands to large industrial firms for development. The peasant farmers lose their homes and their livelihoods. Since they have no possibility of getting justice through the courts they resort to rioting.
