New White Paper Explores Ways to Move from Reaction to Risk Management

Austin, TX, April 13, 2006 - RenewData, a leader in Information Governance solutions providing compliance, preservation archiving and electronic discovery solutions for corporations and law firms, announced today the release of a new white paper “Moving From Reaction to Risk Management: Changing the Focus of Information Governance to Achieve Better Business Results."

This new white paper is developed with corporate counsels in mind and focuses on the benefits of finding and using appropriate business rules to move information governance efforts away from the reactive and passive approaches to more proactive approaches that can anticipate and even prevent problems.

Authored by well-known technology expert and information technology lawyer Dennis Kennedy, “Moving From Reaction to Risk Management: Changing the Focus of Information Governance to Achieve Better Business Results" highlights the fact that information governance is an important component of overall risk management and that considering it as such both improves business results and helps manage risks.

In addition, the white paper shares tips on how applying business rules can help reduce the costs and improve the likelihood of compliance efforts and the enforcement of policies and procedures, resulting in a reduction of actual risk and an improvement in risk management.

Kennedy is an award-winning author with hundreds of publications on legal and technology topics to his credit and a frequent speaker. He was named the 2001 TechnoLawyer of the Year and 2003 Contributor of the Year by TechnoLawyer.com for his role in promoting the use of technology in the practice of law. His blogs, DennisKennedy.Blog (www.denniskennedy.com/blog/) and Between Lawyers (www.corante.com/betweenlawyers/) are among the best-known and most influential of the legal blogs. His website (www.denniskennedy.com) has long been considered a highly regarded resource on legal technology and technology law topics.
