New York based Varsano's Chocolates Racewalking has announced the addition of former Wolverhampton & Bilston walker Ian Whatley, 46, to their USATF Racewalking Grand Prix-leading racing team.
Retorts Dave McGovern (World Class Racewalking/www.racewalking.org) "Whatley? I thought I was old. The guy's barely on the south side of half a century but he's still hammerin'. But cute as a button. I'd like to dip him in some milk chocolate."

The Daily Telegraph - based on cold hard times and distances achieved in 2005 Australian athletes are currently ranked to win a total of only 15 medals -- 11 of those coming from two events, the walks and pole vaults. Australia has the top three ranked athletes in both the men's and women's 20km road walk.
We'd better not mention the cricket then.....
