The space shuttle launch, set for today, was scrubbed, so we're going to Universal's Islands of Adventure park today. It's been a fun week so far. Yesterday we hurried through three Disney parks. It's really hard to get motivated to wait 80 to 120 minutes in line to ride some of the rides. Even so, we've been hitting a lot of the high-lights, and the fireworks at Magic Kingdom last night were worth the wait.

The crowds are big. The Orlando Sentinel reported that most of the parks broke attendence records this week. Yesterday Magic Kingdom was closed to new visitors for a time due to overcrowding at the park.

It's good to see the tourism business get back to normal. Orlando was hit hard by 9/11. I remember saying that people would get in planes again and it's good to see that happening.

At every park they check my bag. That's a new addition to the parks. Airline security is tougher too. I guess we're just going to have to live with the increased bother of waiting in security lines.

Buzz Bruggeman and his wife Jan have been gracious hosts too. Thanks for making us feel at home and letting me syphon off your 802.11 connection Buzz!

Anyway, we're off to go to another Orlando area attraction.

Airfare: $440 for two roundtrip tickets.
Park Admission: $50 for adults, $41 for kids.
Lunch: $20 for two sandwiches and soft drinks.
Pin collection: $100 for assorted pins.
Afternoon snack: $15 for some cookies and ice cream.
Sponge Bob T-Shirt: $20 a piece.
Plastic Ponchos for rain storm: $6 a piece.
Line for GM Test Track at Epcot: 120 minutes.

A day at Walt Disney World Orlando with my son Patrick: Priceless.
