The Toxicology weblog.  Wow there are a lot of smart people building weblogs.  [John Robb's Radio Weblog]

Yes, John, it's awesome to see the weblogs that are springing up.

I'm a truly blessed person. I'm drinking beer, eating pizza, typing into Radio, and listening to Ernie the Attorney play guitar in his house in New Orleans. Does it get any better than this?

Oh, did I mention Ernie's good?

The Weblogging life is wonderful.

Oh, did I mention I start a new job on Monday at NEC? I'm really looking forward to it.

Bill Evjen, executive director of Ineta.org just stopped by.

If you are a .NET developer and haven't heard of Ineta.org, you will.

This is the International .NET Association. They help .NET user groups with speakers and other resources. Started as a completely volunteer organization. Today they have dozens of member user groups and tens of thousands of members. Several people were wearing their shirts here at the TechED conference which demonstrates loyalty to this group.

TechED report #2:

My favorite "cool new thing" here at TechED? Microsoft's Tablet computer and Smart Phone.

I got a chance to sit down with the Tablet team here and get my hands on a prototype Acer device.

Wow, is the ink good.

This device will change how we all think of computers. No longer do computers need to be stuck with a keyboard.

Think of what that means for workers who stand up during the day.

Think of a restaurant waiter, for instance. He can come over to your table with a tablet computer, show you a virtual menu, and fill your order by tapping on a screen.

Coming later this year (at the Fall Comdex show) I predict that the Tablet will be the biggest thing to hit the computer world this year.

The second thing that threw me into techno lust is Microsoft's Smart Phone. Not much to say here, but it is a nice small phone with a color screen and a lightweight version of PocketPC 2002 running on it.

The Smart Phone should sell for about $400 and the Tablet should sell for about $1500 to $2000 (there'll be several different models of Tablets from various manufacturers).

What do you get when you mix:

1) Ernie the Attorney.
2) Margaritas.
3) Robert Cray and Blues Traveler.
4) Me and 6000 other geeks.

??

One hell of a great evening.
