| | Doc reports that the archives of the great, late Industry Standard have been taken down. I'm not surprised, which is why I posted a couple of the articles I wrote for TIS -- complete with the original Web design -- on my own site, where a 404 link not found just ain't gonna happen. And hey, even the animated ads are still working. Kind of makes me nostalgic. [JD's New Media Musings]
It seems like the linkrot related to thestandard.com is just a technical outage. The site still seems to be working through thestandard.net domain.
JD created his own press page of archived stories to protect against future linkrot. Simson Garfinkel has a great index of stories that he hass written in his Clipfile database. Clay Shirky's index of articles also has an interesting organization: recent, popular, various topics.
