Senator Hillary Clinton was booed when she walked on stage last October at a rock concert in Madison Square Garden to benefit 9/11 victims. It was shown live by VH1 but, when the Viacom-owned cable channel replayed it sound technicians replaced the booing with cheering and applause. And that version is the permanent record VH1 put onto its DVD of the event. [via InstaPundit]

Words can barely express how cool it is to see Dave back in full force. After kicking the smoking habit, he's taking on another important battle. Long live RSS2.0 !!! I'm still learning the power of the newest version, and I'm pretty sure it can now be used to distribute information [or files] from other places, like a GNUtella network. This is the next step for me. I've been using RSS 'enclosures' since inception, with great success. Unfortunately this distribution method puts massive strain on the centralized resource that contains the file. Now a file can live anywhere, and each new download adds another distribution point. Sweet!

I found out via an email exchange that one of the founders of the [newly relaunched] electronic intifada website is Dutch. Arjan El Fassed also posted several comments to yesterday's posting. Ofcourse there are counter posts now as well that is forming a lively conversation.
What's interesting to me is the discussion about facts. As far as I'm concerned, pointing to BigPubs no longer counts as a valid 'source' of truth, proof or otherwise. You've gotta point to a personal weblog. One with an archive, so I can browse and form my own opinion about the author.
My advice to Arjan is to re-re-launch electronicintifada as a weblog. Perhaps a multi-user weblog for multiple authors. Currently the site appears to emulate a BigPub and imho detracts from their mission.
As with all aspects of war, be careful not to become what you are fighting against.
