Librarians rule. Finally! The 'wanting librarian' look takes hold.

80% of Amsterdam lost power at about 10pm. I'm in the city and apparently in a 20% area. I still have power, but the cable is out. Our "DataBarn" switched to battery power and now is up on the generators, the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMSIX) took big hit and it took about 30 minutes for the routers to re-route. Self repairing networks. Pretty nifty.

Finally a few moments for blogging. FTP problems this morning and I drove up to Amsterdam (weather too nasty to fly)
Had a good phone chat with Dave Winer last night, he pointed me to Kevin Werbach's excellent piece on Open Spectrum. I was pleased to see the FCC is also looking at this tremendous opportunity.
I'm going to give his ideas a whirl here in europe, see if anyone else in the world is awake.
