If you have a child and a computer at home, then you probably also know how MSN Messenger has become the princess phone of our time.
Christina has been fun to watch while she's 'msn-ing' with her school pals. They even have devised some privacy measures, such as changing their typed fonts to symbol to deter prying sibling or parental eyes.
Two days ago Christina announced that her account (hotmail+msn) had been 'hacked'. Captured is probably more like it. Some 5th grader (she's in 6th) had 'guessed' her password and taken control of her account, which includes email and screenname. This kid then said (via messenger) that he'd give her the account back for a price.
Before I could pull the old "hey lemme talk to his Dad" routine, Christina told him she'd sit on his head. Hee hee, that got thye account back, but the damage had already been done: the kid had already asked some other 'dork' to go out with Christina on a date, and used her identity when he popped the question. Horrors!
Remember when schoolyard pranks consisted of a 'kick me' sign and scotch tape?
