It's been a rough week here in the lowlands. At least, part of the week's activities.
As I wrote thursday, in addition to the new TV show I accepted 5 week's of hosting the morning show on the newly re-launched radio veronica. The radio show has been great. Almost as much fun as writing for my blog, in fact I think I've gotten better at choosing and discussing topics because of my logging experience.
The tv show on the other hand, has been less than enjoyable. Besides poor ratings for the first 2 airings, the production team and broadcast company just don't have their shit entirely together. For weeeks I've been trying to gently point out the glaring mistakes among the team, primarily miscommunication as is commonplace amongst BigCo's.
Yesterday I'd had enough and wrote up a post directed at all involved in the production. Pulling no punches I clearly outlined the problems and offered solutions for getting the show back on track.
As you can imagine, the big honchos did not understand my chosen avenue for communication. The folks doing the actual work however grokked the situation and are more motivated than ever now that the facts are on the table.
Of course I may just find myself without a tv gig, but I hope to have started an open discussion about the mess our national broadcast and production infrastructure is in.
