Before I recorded today's show (uploading as we speak) I decided to start work on my Podcast Production Console. It's based on Radio UserLand, which has an awesome outliner hat is completely programmable hrough it's built-in scripting language and object database. The UserTalk language has a lot of ready to run verbs that provides a full box of web-tools. xml-rpc, rss, opml, you name it, someone's thought of it.
The big 'oh wow' factor for me was the concept of node types. Essentially, you can define what happens when you click on a node in the outliner. It can be a url, another opml document, or fire up a script. In the screenshot you can see nodes with a music note. This represents an audio clip. Double clicking it fires up quicktime and opens with that mp3.
Now imagine, just like with the iPodder Podcast directory, we could share opml files of our podcast production consoles...
