Wireless blogging in Austin

Dave Winer points to Robert Occhialini's Radio Bump Weblog where he is in Starbucks using WiFi via MobileStar to update his Weblog.  Robert says MobileStar is a bit expensive, but he'd rather have MobileStar thrive than go out of business.  Well, since VoiceStream has purchased MobileStar, let's hope VoiceStream can figure out the right business model for a nationwide WiFi network.

Neither VoiceStream, nor its owner, T-Mobile based in Germany, nor MobileStar, has publicized the purchase.  That's worth an entry another time, but in the meantime see Glenn Fleishman's 802.11b Networking News item which points to Bob Liu writing about the new branding for T-Mobile/VoiceStream/MobileStar.

There might lots of blogging via WiFi in Orlando during the CTIA's Wireless 2002 show.  More details, I hope, next week.
