It is really too bad that the 4th Mech is still stuck on ships near Turkey. It would have been great to see it on the western side of Baghdad right now after a long left flank run in the southern desert. That would have shortened this war. As a result of Turkey's decision, it will take 30+ days to get them into theater. The current reserves, the 101st, will end up in Kurdistan given current instability there. I hope Tommy Franks tell the Turks the same thing we told Israel: "We can't ensure your safety if you enter Iraq. We may kill you." [John Robb's Radio Weblog] comments< 2:58:57 PM

Interesting reports from the 3rd Mech. They are running into the same infantry tactics used in Grozny. Fortunately, the enemy also adopted the Somalian/Chadian armored pick-up truck. This resulted in 14 Toyota carcasses. LOL. [John Robb's Radio Weblog] comments< 2:58:31 PM
