Seattle-area Mars humor.

I don't know who did this one, but somehow this latest picture is believable.

Global warming conference postponed due to ice, snow, freezing rain, frigid temperatures at conference site. No comment :-)

I did find amusing this story about a rare thunderstorm (but hardly the first) in Barrow, AK that was transformed into the "first ever thunderstorm in Barrow, AK" in media reports, and eventually in Congressional comments. Only problem - it was not the first. See the National Climate Data Center report (page down) for further info confirming it was not the first. [Edward Mitchell: Common Sense Technology]

Europe to have more killer summers. A simulated future Europe, with simulated weather, has simulated deaths. The CNN/Reuters headline is a crock: the report does not say summers will kill anyone, only that a simulated Europe could have simulated summers that are still cooler than a large part of the world has every summer. And hardly anyone dies - from the heat, that is.
Yet currently, over in Uttar Pradesh, India over 500 people have died due to the cold weather. How cold? About 40 to 43 degrees F, which is quite survivable in France. Yet the summer time temperature in Uttar Pradesh is hotter than it was in France last summer - where so many are alleged to have died due to heat. [Edward Mitchell: Common Sense Technology]

Amazing sense of timing, huh? On the day that some are calling the coldest in the past fifty years in New England, Al Gore is giving a speech in New York City where he will show that global warming is happening right now :-) [Edward Mitchell: Common Sense Technology]
