The ultimate in outsourcing destinations: You.
How companies outsource their product or service delivery to the
customer, who now does the work. This includes "self service" soft
drink machines at fast food restaurants, ATM machines, airline
self-check-ins, to "assemble it yourself" furniture and other items.

Some definitions:
If we lose 15% of our IT sector jobs, its considered "minor".
If we lose 30% to 50% of our IT sector jobs, its considered "moderate" job loss.
If we lose 60% or more, its considered "devastating".
So the good news, now that I understand the definitions, is that our
politicians can say with a straight face that we have experienced only
a "minor" or "moderate" job loss in the IT sector. I'm not sure the
general public thinks that up to a 50% job loss is "moderate" but what
the heck.
Read the whole article, if you can. Very interesting discussion on
future trends in outsourcing, India, China, and China's adoption of
Linux, and more.
I wonder how long it will be before
U.S. high school and college students outsource their homework
assignments overseas? For $1.00, you could probably have your math
homework done in Bangalore.
