I have completed at least the first phase of my transition from OS 9 to Mac OS X. The process was not as smooth as I'd hoped, primarily because: (a) the OS 9 compatibility box was a bad way to handle the transition; (b) some things are too similarly dissimilar, causing learning curve problems and consternation Apple could easily have avoided. Still, as
you can read in my initial lengthy article
, I'm here to stay and generally much happier now. In a
second article in what looms as a series
, I pinpoint some of the main reasons I'm so much happier in OS X much sooner than I had anticipated. A third piece discusses
how Apple could have made this so much easier
if they had cared.
