There's good news and bad news on the Macintosh OS X front from the Eclectic City today.

First, the good news. My OS X installation has been up and running without a crash for 9 days now. That's longer than my Mac OS 9 setup ever ran at one stretch that I can recall, at least in recent memory.

The bad news: Microsoft Word for OS X seems far less stable than it does on OS 9. I am having multiple crashes per day, often several in an hour, working primarily on a smallish (two-page) table layout. It feels very, very fragile. I'm just glad that when it goes down, it doesn't take the system down with it.
