Office:X SR1 and a Speed Note
Microsoft has released (at some point in the recent past) an SR1 updater for Office:X which seems to fix some of the issues I had on my list of things wrong with Word on this platform. I just installed it tonight.
One thing this new version does is allow you to turn off Quartz font anti-aliasing which understandably speeds up Word's performance a lot. The program seems a lot snappier, though scrollbar motion is still herky-jerky when you use the arrows. Sometimes you click on an up or down arrow in a scroller and nothing happens. Sometimes it scrolls one line. Other times it works fine.
