Salon Does Mysteries. I love this. Salon Magazine, the place I began my Web career lo these many eons back, has started a new column focusing on mysteries. Keats Says it More Poetically Than Edison. Same message as Edison's characterization of his thousands of failed efforts to create the light bulb ("I now know lots of ways that don't work" in paraphrase), but a tad more poetic. John Keats. "Don't be discouraged by a failure. It can be a positive experience. Failure is, in a sense, the highway to success, inasmuch as every discovery of what is false leads us to seek earnestly after what is true, and every fresh experience points out some form of error which we shall afterwards carefully avoid."
