Wednesday, August 02, 2000Staying on the Open Source topic today, Michael Swaine has an insightful column on Open Source and Originality. I think Mozilla is a great example of an Open Source project that's looking to completely surpass its closed source rivals. Despite all the recent bad press, progress is being made on a daily basis, something you can't say about the recently released Windows version of IE 5.5 which still offers only 80% of the CSS functionality it should have had to start with [via Cam].

NewsbloggerI don't find this too surprising, but it's interesting to see some hard data on just how much demand for open source professionals there is these days. Clearly it's a good place to be if you're in the IT industry.
I found the previous tidbit using the new Newsblogger web application Pyra and Moreover have collaborated on. Very cool!
