MySQL Security MySQL's built in security is a little convoluted. Not overly so, but just enough to be bothersome when you're new to the system and trying to remotely access a database. At least I've successfully added a user that works locally. 11:45:00 PM     MySQL Installed Installing MySQL went a lot more smoothly than I expected. Now I just need to go home and pull out my copy of so I can familiarize myself with its workings. Cool. Databases are fun. Incidentally, the LinuxPPC server that I've been running at work (and that I just installed MySQL on) actually has an uptime of 29 days right now. Sure, that's small potatoes to a lot of people (and servers), but it's a significant improvement over my initial experiences with LinuxPPC on that particular box. Shutting down Gnome and X-Windows seem to have made all the difference in the world (and freed up some memory as well). 4:43:00 PM     Timbuk2 Custom Bags I've been using a Timbuk2 messenger bag for about a year and a half now, but I had no idea they offered custom bags until today. They have a Flash based custom bag builder that works quite well. I just may have to order a new bag sometime down the road. 2:03:00 PM     Zope 2.3 Upgrade Today's Zope Newbies has some useful info on upgrading to Zope 2.3 from an earlier version. Looks like Zope 2.3 doesn't require Python 2.0, but version 2.4 will. 9:41:00 AM     Blogger, Blogger, Blogger Hmm. Blogger is working again this morning. It wasn't as of 11:30pm last night so I wonder what time it started working again? 9:35:00 AM
