STS-109 Press Kit contains some detailed information on the upcoming Hubble upgrade mission. I'm looking forward to taking a look at these items later today when I get a chance. 9:26:20 AM     Hubble set for major upgrade. The Hubble Space Telescope is about to receive another big in-orbit service that will be a major test of skill - and nerve. [BBC News: sci/tech] Hopefully everything will go as planned on this mission, although it sounds like there are some definite risks to Hubble if they aren't able to restart it after they do a full power down at one point during the overhaul. It hadn't occurred to me that there were components within the observatory that needed to be thermally regulated, but it only makes sense, space is definitely an extreme environment after all. That being said, I'm sure the astronauts on this mission are pretty excited to work on a mission of this magnitude. 9:17:28 AM
