DonXML says that hiring programmers is really a pain in the a## because the quality of resumes isn't very high. Interesting rant, and some good tips for how to find jobs. Heh, who needs a resume anymore? Just write a weblog. [The Scobleizer Weblog]
Well, when we posted looking for someone, I did check a number of the people who submitted resumes to see if they had Weblogs (1 did), you wouldn't believe the number of people who submit resumes without even a intro/cover letter.
*Zap* goes the delete button. (after a suitable pause to see if one shows up late/separate mail)
Actually, I still went ahead and read the resumes, even though I swore i wouldn't. Next time I won't.
Note: The high percentage of people did include cover letters, just so you all out there don't lose total faith in human-kind. :)
