So, I read that Buy .com is blocking Mac users from using it's service. After reading the usual array of "Outraged Mac User" responses on MacNN and MacCentral, etc, I decided that action Should Be Taken. But what to do?
1. E-mail Buy.com and insist that they add Mac support?
Hmm...Unlikely to work. I mean, aren't they pretty much telling me that they don't want my money already?
2. Post an outraged message on a board complaining about this action?
See 1. above.
3. Change my web browser to pretend that it's a windows machine using IE?
Yeeeah, I guess that would work, but it's annoying.
So, after a bit of thought I settled on:
4. Go over to the Apple Music store and buy a few of the songs I have been meaning to buy for a couple of weeks.
Muuuch better.
Look folks, if buy.com doesn't want your business, don't act as free publicity for them. As Jimmy James from News Radio says "Free publicity...that's something you just can't buy!"
Yer pissed about it? Go buy some music from the ITMS, or any of the other nice services that do support the Mac. (Can you say "Gnutella"? I knew y'could)
Buy.com is clearly trying to beat the Mac/PC war drums to get attention on them. What Mac users have to remember is that the "war" is over...Apple "lost". This "war" will not and should not start again. It was always a distraction, and that's all buy.com is trying to do with it now. Don't be a sucker.

Autosave
Also a good article here by The Scotsman on auto-save, as a feature of the OS.
I'm kind of mixed here, while I, like most people have had times when my bacon would truly have saved by auto-save, I'm not sure how the balance is against the times saving fragged my butt. I am sure that the average day-to-day user would be well served by this.
