Salon has an article about the weird fascination that people seem to have for the rich. Quoth they:

Americans have a bad habit of encouraging individual success at all costs, then treating its indulgences as excessive and vulgar.

The problem that confronts the wealthy is a simple one: What the fuck do you do with 20+ million dollars?

Unfortunate answer: make other people grovel. It's hardly new, or unusual. Not even the mockery of the rich is new.

What would be novel is if people stopped kissing people's asses just because they are rich.

You may feel free to keep kissing for any personal reasons, just stop that one. :)
