OmniWeb 5

Ok, now this looks pretty nice.

It really looks like they have really focussed their efforts on improving the browser experience, since now that they're using the rendering engine for Safari, they don't really have to work on that anymore.:

Tabs:

"Most browsers have tabs, but OmniWeb builds on the idea of viewing multiple web pages in a single window by offering thumbnails and powerful drag and drop capabilities."

I will admit, I'm a bit skeptical about this one. since I find handling of tabbed browing to be a very touchy item. In fact, tabs were what moved me from OmniWeb to Camino and then Safar's better handling of large numbers of tabs moved me to Safari, where I now reside. I'm not sure about a "drawer-based" tab systm, but I'll give it a whirl.

Workspaces: "Imagine you have a lot of web pages open in your browser that you still have not viewed, but you need to restart your computer. You could bookmark all the pages and then load them all again when you next launched the browser, but that can take a lot of time and clutter up your bookmarks."

Man, it's like they're reading my mind! I have a habit of running with well over 20+ tabs open in my browser, and I have had to do that conga dance more times than I like to think. I'm looking forward to that.

Site Preferences: "OmniWeb has always offered control over your web browsing experience with features like pop-up and advertisement blocking. OmniWeb 5 takes this to a whole new level with Site Preferences — a powerful tool for customizing your browsing. Site Preferences allows you to set preferences on a per-site basis, so you can view different web sites in different ways."

To misquote Homer Simpson: "I'm a simple man, I like my ads filtered, my pop-ups blocked, and my homosexuals fa-laming!"

Translated, I dunno that I'd have a site that I wanted to turn ads on for, but wth, maybe I'd find it useful.
