First 2004 Debate Part II:

Forgot to mention:

Obviously if you watched it, you saw that,

Bush looked nervous and irritated by turns, he would ask for rebuttals, and then sputter for the first couple of seconds. I wouldn't buy a car from someone who acted like he did, much less vote for them for president.

Kerry really actually seemed to have a personality. He smiled easily, seemed like a nice guy, which is one thing he's had a real problem with. I don't think Bush gave a smile until more than halfway through.

The other biggy I wanted to hit was that you just got to see the price of the Bush/Cheney team holding the kind of "insiders only" events that they've been giving. It screwed Bush. I could almost see him wondering why no one was applauding. Was it just me? He looked confident when he'd start one of his canned statements, and then he'd pause, and then he'd look puzzled. They've had him drinking too much of his own Kool-aid, and surrounded by Yes-Men, and it shows.

Debate #1: Bush gets his ass handed to him.

Ed Note: Please note that the "Kerry doing badly in polls" post was written before I watched the debate on my ReplayTV.

Someone charitably described Bush's performance in this debate as "consistent".

I suppose so. Bush would have been fine if the debate had been 30 Minutes. Basically, after that, he turned into a giant "Magic-8-Ball".

It was actually sad.

Wait, did I say "sad"? I mean fucking hy-sterical, with the rapid blinking (what is with his eyes?), twitches, teeth gritting...It's like he was channeling Al Gore circa Debate 2000.

Kerry let a couple of easy hits go by, but Bush did too.

There're some Bush campaign staffers getting their asses fired tonight, you can lay some money on it.

Kerry doing badly in polls?

So I've been seeing articles leaning on the polls showing kerry slipping.

Goood, says I. Why? Have I developed a brain tumor and decided that the terrorists should win and Bush should be re-elected?

Hell No.

The more people think that King George is likely to be elected, the more likely they are to get scared and get out and vote. Yeah, yeah, I know, I've heard the BS about people getting dejected and not voting because "Bush is gonna win anyway". Bollocks. Any American worth their salt, fights harder in a case like that. Hell, I'm only voting this year to make sure that Kerry get's a strong showing in this state from registered Republicans. (Or at least my vote. 4:15:36 AM     Discuss: []
