Its been 18 years since I spent the month of January rafting down the Colorado river, as a field assistant, surveying bars and beaches in the Grand Canyon. It was one of the first of several studies that served as a baseline for evaluating the flooding tests in 1996. 
In a very small way, my work that January, is helping restore the Cayon. This pleases me.
