Pandori's vision, values stand out: "What kind of mayor does San Jose need? A leader with impeccable ethics and a commitment to open government. A leader who can be recognized as the face and the voice of Silicon Valley, with all the energy, intelligence and inspiration that implies."

(Via Opinion -- MercuryNews.com.)

Wow. I didn't expect this. But the Mercury News is right. David Pandori needs to be in the run-off election. He is bringing forward the issues that must be discussed to make San Jose a better place to live.

Rather than try to distill these issues into a campaign flyer, he wrote a book.

While the other five candidates are fully qualified for the job, David Pandori stands out as an independent who understands what is needed to make San Jose a vibrant and livable city. He is not beholden to Labor or Business, which is what the city needs now.

I am voting for David Pandori. Of the other Candidates, I think that Chuck Reed would get my vote (if this were an instant run-off ballot). His fiscal conservatism and strong ethics make him a good second choice.

I will not be voting for our wildly popular candidate from District 3. While Cindy has done wonderful things for Downtown San Jose neighborhoods, she has been on the wrong side of too many votes and issues for me.

We need a strong vision for all of San Jose, not just Downtown. Our Mayor and council must understand that what happens on the fringes (in Coyote Valley, North San Jose, and Evergreen) impacts our neighborhoods.

It is our neighborhoods that make San Jose a wonderful place to live. If they suffer, we all suffer.
