I'm crying in my coffee. If Liquid hadn't been so friggin' arrogant about their DRM we could have done this together.

WSJ.  Sony and Philips to buy Intertrust, a DRM company, for $453 m.  "Palladium? Palladium?  We don't need no stinkin' Palladium."

InterTrust, founded in 1990 by entrepreneur Victor Shear, has suffered along with other DRM specialists from competition from free Internet services, such as Napster and Kazaa. The Santa Clara, Calif., company, which once negotiated to build its copyright-protection software into Microsoft's Windows operating system, accuses the software giant of violating its patents, and company officials have discussed damage figures in the billions of dollars.
