Here's two cool programs: SyscallTrack and Popfile.

Syscalltrack lets you intercept/filter/log/futz with any linux system call for any process.

Popfile is a great automatic mail classification tool (their words...). It implements a Bayes Theorem - if you want to know more, read the frequently asked questions. Popfile is written in perl and works on nearly any platform. If you have a junk e-mail problem, this program can really help!

Summer finally appeared yesterday! An interesting coincidence happened at the same time. Last fall the air conditioner in my car (a Del Sol) broke and the estimate was more than I was willing to pay to get it fixed. I figured that I'd wait until spring or maybe early summer. I started working at a different place (BlueSocket - a nice place to work). My drive went from 15 minutes to at least 45 minutes. I'd been telling everyone that it couldn't get hot until my air conditioner was fixed. Monday my cars air conditioner got fixed.

The next problem is that I bought my car used from someone at my previous job. I got all of the paperwork at home. While the air conditioner was fixed, they had to disconnect the battery. This means that the radio is asking for it's anti-theft code. Since I can't find it anywhere, this is translating into getting the AC fixed, but the radio is now a lump of metal that does nothing but says 'CODE' on the front.

My mother collects Elephants. She has more than just a few... and so when I stumble across another one... well, I just gotta send it home. I found this one at the local Newbury Comics:

Elephant Watering Can

It's not often that I can find a collection of an Elephant, a watering can and the pink plastic that is used to make pink flamingos. This spiffy watering can was actually made by Union Products - which made the original pink flamingo. That means that this watering can is made of a plastic that will last nearly forever.
