I've been moblogging for a few days now with my Sony-Ericsson T68i mobile phone. I have the companion camera that snaps onto one end for simple swift image capture. All I really wanted was a device that I could take pictures with and send as an email. The real challange was setting up a system that would accept an email with a picture and post it accordingly to a category of my choice. The solution came from two places. One is David Davies Assetmanager a> tool for "radio userland". This tool works with your mail2weblog pref settings, using pre-defined subject lines to route an email to a category posting. An attached image is automatically upstreamed and appropriate code is added to the post to refrence the picture. These are upstreamed into /mailedimages/ in the images folder, hopefully these will end up in the existing images structure in the future. Mac users might know that Apple's Mail program sends lots of lovely extra characters that tend to show up in radio m2w posts. That fix comes from our second source, JY, who has a modified version of tcp.getMail. Hopefully those changes will make it into a future update of radio.
The most surprising discovery is that I find email a very comfortable
interface for blogging. And very mac-like when you just drag an image
into an email-post. There are similar tools out there and I'm sure
we're going to stumble on all sorts of nifty tools for blogging on the
go. [Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog]
