I am at the ICLS conference and am sittiing in on a session on Programmable Bricks.  Apparently these have been around for ages - but this is new to me.  The session I am sitting is has a lower cost version which they call the Gogo board.  The Gogo Board uses cheaper, human sized electronics and is often used in conjunction with found items.    This is a fascinating presentation on amateur repurposing found items for new uses.
