VideoBlogging Resources

After having spent most of last weekend working on a presentation on VODcasting (or videoblogging), I remain very excited about its possibilities. Jen Reeves and I did a presentation entitled: "Move Aside Podcasting. VODcasting is here!" for the NMC online conference on media literacy (soon to be posted to a blog near you if all goes well). In the presentation we gave an overview of vodcasting (the University of Missouri Journalism school term for VideoOnDemandcasting), some of the tools available for aggregating video, and a short list supporting sites.

A couple of resources:
  • Mac application ANT (Ant's not TV) is like iPodder for videos. Rich media files wrapped up in RSS are downloaded to your video viewer automagically.
  • mefeedia is an online aggregator of videoblogs
  • Ourmedia is a great place to store your content (1 minute of a vblog can be as much as 11 megs)
If you have 30 extra minutes today, check out mefeedia.com!
