Next thing to think about: I have a couple of static sites that that are begging to be managed; one of which is purely handwritten, the other was built by someone else using (*shudder*) FrontPage. The former site has a few pages, is very simple, but could use more structure and an easy means of being updated. The latter site is vestigial, but will need to grow very soon.
This is a great opportunity to get some comparative experience with two cool tools: Radio (of course) and CityDesk.
Radio I've only toyed with so far. Even though I've had it since it first came out, I'm really not a web logger by inclination. I've been mostly interested in all the cool geeky internals: the object database, the scripting, the SOAP and XML-RPC support. I haven't tried to use it to build and manage a website, so why not give it a shot, especially now that 8.0 is here.
CityDesk looks quite nice. Not nearly as interesting to me from a geek POV as Radio, but in contrast it arguably has the virtue of being more narrowly focussed on the specific task set of building and maintaining a site.
So, we shall see what happens....

Playing around some more...
This time, using Mozilla instead of Galeon (Galeon is crashing when I right-click on a link -- maybe because I'm using newer Mozilla libraries, which I build from CVS nightly). Based on Dave's note, I'm going to enter the link created by the Spam-free MailTo macro into the email fields for my RSS prefs, and see if that produces a workable RSS file.
OK, that work fine, since I just enter a literal URL (i.e., the resuly of the macro). But what if the macro starts rendering differently, e.g., UserLand decides to move the MailTo service to a different subdomain? What happens if I use the macro itself in the pref? Let's see....
OK, I didn't really think that would work -- it just used the literal text of the macro invocation. So, I wonder, is there any way to introduce dynamic content from a macro into the generated RSS file? Having the pref is great, it allows you to remove your email address or replace it with a URL, would it would be pretty slick if we could combine the benefits of the Spam-free MailTo macro and the RSS pref.

Wow, Mike Krus' bookmarklet really does work. Just tested it using Galeon, since I prefer to use my deskop Linux machine (which has both Mozilla and Galeon), but I run Radio on my Win2K laptop. The only drawback to this setup is that I don't get the cool WYSIWYG edit control that you get under IE.
