According to Reuters, rumors abound that Microsoft is bidding on Rational (last week IBM announced they were acquiring them) and on long-time rival Borland. Looks like the market for development tools is hot, especially in light of the disappointing price Trellix got for its content tools in yesterday's announcement. You have to wonder why Trellix took $9 million, when their last round raised $35. Someone took a bath there. A wet one! [Scripting News]
We are certainly living in interesting times.

A Snowy Morning With Hip Women
We're not exactly snowed in up here in New Hampshire, but it's messy enough out there that the local schools are closed, allowing us all to sleep in a bit past our usual 5:30 wakeup time. I'll work here for a while and then drive in to the office.
At breakfast this morning, I put on King Crimson's "Level 5" CD. Now, KC is supposedly one of those bands that only geeky guys like, but I am lucky enough to have a wife and two daughters who actually like them -- in fact, we resolved this morning to see them as a family when they tour next year. How cool is that? (By the way, our previous family concert outing, and our first collective rock concert, was Moby's Area 2 concert this past summer outside of Boston. We went for David Bowie, who was great, but we also liked Ash and Blue Man Group. Moby was a letdown after Bowie, though.)
