Biotech moth judged ready for tests. MSNBC Jan 13 2002 1:41AM ET [Biotech news]

Okay, this article is somewhat hyperbolic but what they are talking about is inserting a gene called Green Flourescent Protein (GFP) into the genome of an organism. GFP naturally flouresces green under the proper light stimulation, making it a very effective marker for protein expression. In this case, it can tag specific types of moths, allowing researchers to know which moth is which, a pretty difficult proposition if you are not another moth.  8:22:56 PM
