Microsoft must be a flexible giant, Ballmer says. SEATTLE -- Microsoft Corp. needs to avoid the ```big company' ills'' if it wants to beat competitors and boost its long-stagnant stock price, Chief Executive Steve Ballmer told employees in an annual memo Tuesday. [Business]
The article syas 'Microsoft has already said it will reduce prescription drug benefits and employee stock discounts as part of plans to save about $1 billion this fiscal year.' Supposedly they are looking at getting rid of the free soft drinks. Can the other perks be far behind. I think one of the tell-tale signs that a technology company has lost its ability to even appear to innovate is when it starts barking about cutting costs.Of course, MS only pretended to be an innovative company but I would expect that fewer and fewer people will be putting in those 14 hour days anymore. If you get treated like a wage slave, then you begin to act like one. 11:25:26 PM
