A very interesting article by David Cole about how the O'Reilly show is edited to completely show the one-sided, often illogical rants of the host. Anyone who can stand up to him with reasoned arguments is apparently simply edited out. I guess this is what happens in the no-spin zone. Looks like he has read his Orwell. Certainly not fair or balanced.
And when did it become acceptable for a news program to edit its broadcast in such a way as to mischaracterize what was said? About the time news disappeared and entertainement arrived. The news programs on Cable and the broadcast stations has not been news for a long time. Not like the news of the 50s and 60s. Then, they covered conventions wall to wall. Now, we will only see enough to give the illusion then back to our 'bread and circuses.' Sue helps when everything is owened by a few companies who seem to have no more caretaker role in its citizens. In many ways, we no longer have a free press, which is one resaon, I believe, that people are finding alternative ways to move that sort of information around.Pampleteers (i.e. weblogs) are again a prized form to create political discussions. 11:50:18 PM
