Headline of the Day: And the story's pretty good, too:
PROTESTERS calling for an end to recent violence in Sri Lanka found
themselves brawling with hardline Buddhist monks today, after a rally
dubbed a ?peace protest? turned unexpectedly violent.
Organisers said there were around 1000 people in a park in the
capital, Colombo, listening to a range of speakers when hardline
saffron-robed monks opposed to concessions to Tamil Tiger rebels
mounted the stage and erected banners.
Some more moderate Buddhist monks, protesting for peace, were
already on the stage when punches were thrown. Soon, monks' robes and
fists were flying, although no one was badly hurt, witnesses said.

Last week, the cons were all in a lather (professional idiot Michelle Malkin called it "Dearbornistan terror arrests") about supposed terrorists who made the error of buying cell phones. And now? The three Dallas-area men arrested in Michigan on state terrorism charges are well-known to cell phone wholesale and retail shops here, where managers said Monday they are part of a brisk trade in buying phones from Wal-Mart and other discount stores and reselling them to smaller shops. In Michigan, meanwhile, the FBI said it has no information to indicate that the three Palestinian-Americans arrested with about 1,000 cell phones in their van on Friday had any connections to terrorism. And, in an unrelated case, an Ohio prosecutor said he didn't have enough evidence to present felony terrorism charges against two Michigan men also arrested with a number of cell phones in their car. Oh. Is it time now to make Emily Litella the official mascot of the Republican party?
